Less than 2 miles away is Old Creek Ranch winery, 850 acres of beauty and wine tasting. Sulfur mountain hiking trail is minutes away, a favorite of hikers and mountain bikers alike. I do supply three bikes but they are a bit funky so if your a serious biker bring yours or rent from one of the local bike stores. I reside on the opposite end of the house with a kitchen in the middle we share. Your outdoor seating is yours alone right outside your bedroom and very private. I have two small dogs and a cat while I keep them on my side of the house they may greet you when you arrive. I also have two mini donkeys that do not like dogs so for this reason I can not take yours in no matter how well behaved it is. Update March 20, mating season has begun, the frogs can get quite loud. And still the property is just minutes away from scenic downtown Ojai and a 15 minute drive to the beach. Perfect for retreats, a family getaway or a little R and R. There is also river preserve hiking trail just down the road, as well as horse back riding trails.

The home is in a cul-de-sac of 5 Mediterranean homes. As you turn into the road, you will see a sign that says, Private Road. You want the first house on the left. Park in front of the single garage door, part of a three door garage. Walk through the black iron gate and the guest house will be on your left. There is a combination lock, queen size bed with a memory foam mattress and plenty of pillows. Dining area, kitchen, sink, electric cook top, small fridge and freezer. A toaster oven, microwave, cuisinart coffee maker uses pods, or tea bags and an electric kettle. Filtered drinking water, room temperature. And you also have the use of a full size refrigerator freezer in the garage, if needed, and I keep 3 gallons of filtered water in there, with a spigot for filling bottles with cold water on the go. Toilet, bath and shower. Guest access: Guests have the full use of the property, which means the forecourt and the back garden. Guests also have use of the laundry room in the main house. Two light weight gravity chairs for use in the garden or the forecourt. The garden also has comfortable seating in the shade. There is some intermittent traffic that goes by the side of the property. 8 minutes to guided horse rentals taking in some of the beautiful trails all around us. That goes for hiking too Well behaved pets are always welcome. Guests must book a minimum of 30 nights. Other things to note: Although my postal address is Ojai, I am closer to Oak View which means closer to Ventura, and of course extremely close to downtown Ojai. (2.4miles) in the other direction. Downtown Ojai has a variety of really good restaurants, galleries, and shops. Farmer's Market is open Sundays 8 - 1pm. It is in the middle of Matilija Street, parallel to Ojai Ave. 8 minutes to Lake Casitas, with boat rentals available, and kayaks. 100 mile shore line. Fishing allowed but NO swimming. Small cafe overlooking the lake. 20 minutes to the beach, I have a huge beach blanket, towels and foldout chairs. Historic Ventura has lots to see, especially on Main Street including plenty of restaurants, antique stores etc. 45 minutes to beautiful Santa Barbara, from my house, and don't miss Montecito village on the way. Lovely drive passed the lake, an alternative to the freeway. Of course on the freeway you drive by the ocean, so go one way and back the other. Some terrific restaurants and wine tasting rooms. I might be able to make some good suggestions. I rode my horses in the mountain trails of Ojai, 5 days a week for 10 years.

During the winter, surf comes right up to the seawall at high tide.) We are located on a family friendly beach and one of the area's best beginner surf spots.
